Moving Patient Images and Documents to Recycle Bin

In this section, you will learn how to move patient images and documents to recycle bin.

Step 1: On "Patient Search" page, you will see all patient orders with patient name, patient id, patient other ids, modality, accession number, date and images information.

Step 2: Click on the patient order, it will be selected and turn into blue color and order editing tools will be shown. Now, patient images and documents can be moved to recycle bin in two different ways. First one is by clicking on "Move to Recycle Bin" icon on the right side of the order. The second one is right clicking on the patient order and clicking on "Move to Recycle Bin" menu item.

Step 3: After clicking on the icon, a Message Box will be shown to confirm you to move the patient order to Recycle Bin. Click on "Yes" to confirm that you want to move the order to recycle bin. If you don’t want to move it to recycle bin, click on "No".

Step 4: Once you have clicked to "Yes", selected order will be moved to recycle bin and the remaining orders will be shown in patient search page.

Moving Folders to Recycle Bin

In this article, you will learn how to move folders to recycle bin. For more information about folder usage read articles at here.

Step 1: Folders can be moved to recycle bin from three different locations. First one is from "Folders" section in the main screen. The second one is using "Select Folder" form shown during upload when medical images and clinical documents are added to folders. The third one is using "Select Folder" form shown at "Search" results page when Patient Studies are added to folders. At these three locations visual appearance of the folders, toolbar and functions are identical, therefore, in this article screen shots taken from "Folders" section are used.

On "Folders" section, all of the folders and their contents are displayed.

Step 2: Click on the folder you want to move to recycle bin. After you have clicked, the selected folder will turn into blue colour and if you click again it will be deselected. You can choose one or more folder at the same time using Control and Shift keys.

Step 3: Once you have selected folder or folders, click on "Move Folder to Recycle Bin" icon on the upper right side of the form.

Step 4: After clicking on the icon, a Message Box will be shown to confirm you to move selected folder to Recycle Bin. Click on "Yes" to confirm that you want to move the folder to recycle bin. If you don’t want to move the folder to recycle bin, click on "No".

Step 5: Once you have clicked to "Yes", selected folder or folders will be moved to recycle bin and the remaining folders will be shown.

Recovering Images and Folders from Recycle Bin

In this section, you will learn how to recover images and folders from recycle bin. First of all, you must have "View Folder" authorization. If you don't see the folder icon on the left tabs, please contact us for this topic.

Step 1: Once you have moved your images and folders to the recycle bin according to the “Moving Folders to Recycle Bin” article, they will continue to appear in recycle bin. Click on “Recycle” icon on the upper right side of the page to view the images or folders in recycle bin.

Step 2: After clicking on the icon, recycle bin will be opened. You can see all images and documents that have been moved here before.

Step 3: Click on the folder or image you want to recover. Once you have clicked on, the selected folder will turn into blue color. You can choose one or more folder byl clicking ctrl button on keyboard.

Step 4: After selecting, click on “Restore” icon on the upper right side of the form to recover the folder from recycle bin.

Step 5: A Message Box will be shown to confirm you to restore the folder. Click on “Yes” to confirm that you want to recover it. If you don’t want to recover it, click on “No”.

Step 6: After clicking on “Yes”, the recovered folder or image will be displayed on where it was before deleted.

Deleting Images and Folders Permanently

In this section, you will learn how to delete images and folders permanently.

Step 1: After moving your images and folders to the recycle bin according to the “Moving Folders to Recycle Bin” article, they will continue to appear in recycle bin. Click on “Recycle” icon on the upper right side of the page to view the images or folders in recycle bin.

Step 2: Once you have clicked on the icon, recycle bin will be opened. You can see all images and documents that have been moved here before.

Step 3: Click on the folder or image you want to delete permanently . After clicking, the selected folder will be displayed in blue colour and if you click on it again it will be deselected. You can choose one or more folder.

Step 4: After selecting, click on “Delete” icon on the upper right side of the form to delete the folder permanently.

The latest version of PostDICOM has "Empty Recycle Bin" buttons on the upper left side of the form. You can empty the recycle bin at once by pressing this button. (You cannot undo this process be careful.)

Step 5: Once you have clicked on the icon, a Message Box will be shown to confirm you to delete the folder permanently. Click on “Yes” to confirm that you want to delete the folder permanently. If you don’t want to delete it, click on “No”.

Step 6: After clicking on “Yes”, the folder will be deleted permanently.
